Hilda de Pablo
Hilda de Pablo Leonardo is an oceanographer who graduated from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain) with a Master's and PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) (Portugal). She has participated in/coordinated more than 30 national and international projects, in different areas such as ecological and socio-economic status assessment, conceptual and numerical modelling and data management. She has implemented and executed environmental monitoring programmes from a holistic perspective. During her professional career she has worked at the Centre for Naval and Ocean Engineering (CENTEC) at IST, in cooperation with the Danish Hydraulics Institute (DHI) (Denmark), at the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), at EMEPC (Mission Structure for the Extension of the Continental Shelf), at MARETEC (Technological Centre for the Sea) at IST and as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering at UL-CUL. She is the author or co-author of 34 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and 6 book chapters.
Principal investigator from the BioRG team of the project “Free-LitterAT – Advancing towards litter-free Atlantic coastal communities by preventing and reducing macro and micro litter” where an interdisciplinary group of Professors from the Faculty of Engineering of Lusófona University – Lisbon (UL-CUL) participates, was approved. The Project is financially supported by Interreg Atlantic Area, European Regional Development Fund (European Union).
